About the Role:
Working in the Baby Room requires a special touch, immense patience, and a deep understanding of early infant development. As a Baby Room Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing a warm, loving, and highly responsive environment for our youngest children (aged 3 months to 2 years).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Exceptional Care: Ensure all care needs are met with warmth and sensitivity, including nappy changing, bottle feeding, weaning, and managing sleep routines.
  • Stimulate Early Development: Plan and deliver engaging sensory play and activities focused on the three Prime Areas of the EYFS (Communication & Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social & Emotional Development).
  • Nurture Secure Attachments: Act as a dedicated Key Person, building strong, trusting bonds with your key babies to help them feel safe and settled.
  • Partner with Parents: Maintain daily, detailed communication with parents and carers regarding feeds, sleeps, nappy changes, and developmental milestones to ensure continuity of care between home and nursery.
  • Maintain High Standards: Ensure the baby room is kept spotlessly clean, safe, and hygienic at all times, strictly adhering to our health and safety policies.

What We Need From You (Requirements):
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in an Early Years setting, ideally with specific experience in a Baby Room (Essential).
  • Qualifications: A full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification (Essential).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of baby development, weaning phases, safe sleep guidelines, and the EYFS framework for under 2s.
  • Skills: Exceptionally nurturing, observant, and highly communicative.
  • Bonus: A valid Paediatric First Aid qualification is highly desirable (though we will provide training if needed).

Safeguarding & Safer Recruitment: Greencoat Nursery is strictly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

To ensure the safety of our children, our recruitment process is rigorous and complies with Ofsted and EYFS safer recruitment guidelines:
  • DBS Check: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Referencing: We require a minimum of two satisfactory professional references, one of which must be from your most recent employer.
  • Employment History: Applicants must provide a full employment history. Any gaps in employment must be clearly explained and will be investigated.
  • Right to Work: You must provide documentation proving your right to work in the UK.
  • Suitability: A self-declaration of suitability to work with children will be required prior to the interview.

If you have a genuine passion for baby development and want to be part of a supportive, rewarding environment, we would love to hear from you. Apply today!
